Hey there! We’re the Labrador Friendship Centre’s SHIELD Project.
SHIELD is an acronym for Sexual Health Information Exchange Labrador District. Our project uses art, culture and technology to create safe spaces for learning about sexual health, healthy relationships and harm reduction. Our main site is at the Labrador Friendship Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Our south coast satellite site is located at the Charlottetown Town Office.
SHIELD invites Labradorians aged 11-24 to talk wellness, relationships, self-worth and sexual health in relaxed and interactive environments, alongside artist role models, health care professionals, or other representatives from local youth servicing agencies.

SHIELD is funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada’s HIV Hep C Community Action Fund, with additional supports from the Social and Economic Well-Being Division of GovNL’s Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development. SHIELD is sponsored by the Labrador Friendship Centre.
